He was originally from Augusta GA and moved to Forest Park in the 1969 and he work for Kroger Distribution Center and a Teamsters Union Stewart for 30 years and retired June 2008.
He proudly and honorably served our country in the U.S. Army from 1962 – 1965. While in the Army he served in the 7th Calvary division spending time in Korea and Vietnam. He was known to most at the time as the ammo kid. He was also the President of San Francisco 6th Army Guard where he played football and was on Burial Detail for deceased fellow service personnel.
He also coached many baseball softball and football teams for men women and youth thru out his life touching many people in so many different ways. His love for people was undeniable was of his greatest attributes than many people has a chance to witness.
He is predeceased in death by his parents, Thomas and Evie Kennedy; wife; Jean O. Morgan Kennedy; brother, Earl Kennedy and sister, Janie Hughes.
He was a loving husband to his wife, Jean, whom he met Jean at Red Wing Roller Rink and they married in 1968. She was truly the love of his life
He was a loving father to his son and daughter in-Law, Glenn and Melissa Kennedy; daughter and son-in-law, Julie Kennedy and Brian Yarber; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a loving brother to his brother, James Kennedy; sisters, Barbara Reese, Jean Hammett, Angie Hathaway; and a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and a host of other family members.
He was affiliated with Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Augusta GA.
