Deborah graduated from Reynolds high school in 1965. After High school she attended Marylhurst collage and OSU where she graduated with a degree in education, later she would attain a master’s degree in education from Lewis & Clark College.
Deborah taught elementary school in the Reynolds school district for three decades. Teaching at Troutdale, Sweetbrier, Davis, and Hartley elementary schools. After retiring from teaching, Deborah and Michael traveled and Deborah pursued her love of Jane Austen by joining the Jane Austen Society of Oregon and S.W. Washington. She also enjoyed attending English country dancing at the Friday evening dances held by the Portland country dance community.
Deborah is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Michael; son, Jeremy; and brothers, James and Barry Boman.
The family would like to extend thanks to the Ray Hickey Hospice House Vancouver, Wash., for their compassionate care during Deborah's final month.
Cremation is in care of River View Cemetery. A memorial celebration and reception will take place on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 2-4 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland.
