NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Wilson Tabb, the former Judith Darcey, age 83, at 10:00 am Monday, March 5, 2018 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Keith Landry. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.
A native of Weeks Island and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Tabb passed away at5:00 pm on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Tabb was employed as a Cafeteria Manager with Iberia Parish School Board for 33 years and as a part time employee at Subway for 6 years.
Her love of cooking meant that she was always willing to host her family and friends to a wonderful meal. She also enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo.
She is survived by five grandchildren, Chase Derise and Courtney; Brady Derise and Jamie; Kimberly Addie and life partner Lynn; Joshua Raved and Dillon Tabb; three great grandchildren, Max Derise, Gabrielle Derise and Luke Derise, one sister, Marilyn Crochet and husband Preston of New Iberia; nieces and caregivers, Bonnie Gardner and Trudy Rush and husband Robert of Lydia; and god children, Joey Lopez and Jan Derise.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Tabb; two sons, Randall “Frod” Tabb and Jason Tabb; three daughters, Joy Lynn Tabb, Pauline Tabb Derise and Cathy Tabb Addie; her parents, Whitney and Valerie Broussard Darcey; one sister, Gail Jolet; and god-child, Stacy Crochet Guidry.
Pallbearers will be Brady Derise, Chase Derise, Max Derise, Scott Crochet, Shane Crochet and Joey Lopez.
Honorary pallbearers will Jan Derise Jonathon Rush, and David Jolet.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center and the staff of Maison Teche Nursing Home; Bridgette Fredrick and Karen Derouen.
