Marjorie Robinson Kiecolt passed away on February 28, 2018 at Villagio Senior Living in McKinney, Texas. She was born on July 11, 1923 to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest R. Hanson of Flandreau, South Dakota. She was graduated from Flandreau High School in 1941. In 1945 she was graduated from the University of South Dakota with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.
On June 19, 1954, she married Jack L. Robinson in Casper, Wyoming. The same year, Jack returned to the University of Kansas to complete a master's degree in economics. The couple then moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked for Humble Oil and Refining Company. In 1957, Jack began work on a PhD in economics at Ohio State University. In July of 1962, he accepted a position as an assistant professor of economics at the University of Oklahoma. Later that year their daughter, Sara, was born.
Marjorie was a member of the OU Business Wives Association, the Norman Regional Hospital Auxiliary, and the Town and Country Garden Club. The Robinsons were charter members of University Lutheran Church. Dr. Robinson passed away in 1975 due to injuries received in a vehicular accident in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he was teaching an economics course.
On May 8, 1990, Marjorie married Edward H. Kiecolt in Norman. He passed away in 2000. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sara and David Pennybaker, of McKinney, Texas, and a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Sue Hanson, of Shaker Heights, Ohio. A private funeral service will be held.
