Ernamae (Wills) Weidner left this world for her home in Heaven on March 5, 2018 at Sunny Vista Living Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Ernamae was born 6/27/1934 in Spring Lake, Michigan. To George Hunter Wills and Edna (Lewis) wills, and moved to Grand Haven, MI. as an infant.
She attended the Grand Haven schools, graduating in 1952. She went on to graduate from Moody Bible Institute, Wheaton College, and her Master’s degree from Western Michigan University. She taught in the Fruitport, MI. Elementary School for 14 years, and then upon moving to Colorado, she taught for 20 years at the Colorado Springs Christian School until her retirement in 1999. She continued her teaching skills by working with the 501C organization called “A Childs Heart”, transposing the Valerie Acuff curriculum into a children’s program, and piloting this program into an after-school program for disadvantaged kids.
Ernamae enjoyed the beach (when in Grand Haven), hiking, singing in the choir, and listening, or participating in, children’s programs. She attended Village 7 Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Weidner; her daughter, Mary E. (Calvin) Feik; her sister, Verlabeth (Wills- Baldus) Thomas; and sisters-in-law, Ann Wills, Sharon Wills, Phyllis Weidner; brother-in-law, Fred DeVilbiss; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Mortuary – 2350 Montebello Square Dr., Colorado Springs. Inurnment will be at the Limerick Garden of Memories in Limerick, PA.
