ZUCKERNIK, Marilyn (Black), 90 years old, long time resident of Brookline, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5th, 2018 shortly after the loss of her husband. During WWII, she attended nursing school and later worked with Dr. Elliott Joslin, founder of the Joslin Diabetes Clinic. She was a loyal, loving and nurturing daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother and grandmother in all stages of her life. Devoting her life to her family, she was loved by them -- as well as countless friends. Predeceased by her father Samuel Black, mother May (Goldberg) Black, her sister Edith (Black) Siff, and most recently, her cherished husband of 64 years, Burton Zuckernik. She was the dedicated and much loved mother of Wendy (Zuckernik) Nason, James Zuckernik, and Robert Zuckernik and his wife Karen Bernat, adored grandmother of Shari Nason and her husband Eric Foley, Arielle Nason, Benjamin Zuckernik, Samuel Zuckernik, Eliana Zuckernik and Maxwell Zuckernik and great grandmother of Thomas and Ella Foley. Beloved sister of Paul Black, Gene Black and the late Edith (Black) Siff. She leaves many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 475 Washington Street, Canton, MA on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11am, followed by interment at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon, MA. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Robert and Karen on Wednesday and Thursday from 7pm to 9pm.
