Funeral Services for Margaret June Franklin Zadow, age 79, of Haughton, LA will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bossier City, LA. Officiating the service will be Pastor Siegfried Kunz. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, LA. The family will receive friends at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home for a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday March 8, 2018.
Margaret was born in Falls City, NE on December 27, 1938 to Robert Benjamin Franklin and Grace Riden Franklin. She passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday March 6, 2018 in Haughton, LA.
She was a loving, caring, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Margaret was a friend to many and will be missed by all that knew her. She had previously worked at the Rutherford House in Shreveport, LA for over 30 years. Margaret was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bossier City, LA and enjoyed spending time with her church family and singing in the choir. She enjoyed traveling and was always available to listen and share her thoughts in a friendly conversation with friends, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An avid reader and author she also spent her time crocheting many items for her friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Grace Franklin; husband of 34 years, Arthur Thomas Zadow; and son, Patrick Lynn Zadow.
Surviving Margaret is her loving daughter Debra Ellen Zadow Millus and husband Wayne of Cottonport, LA; daughter-in-law, Tina Zadow of Pearland, TX; brother, Robert C. Franklin and wife Jenny of Belmont, CA; grandchildren, Stephanie Faulk and husband Christopher of Bossier City, LA, Kenneth W. Millus and wife Kristin of Pittsburg, TX, Kaitlin Zadow, Robert Zadow, and Jarred Zadow of Pearland, TX; and eight great-grandchildren Tyler, Logan, Maddie, Braden, Kenzie, Addie, Abbye, and Jaxson. Margaret also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to remember and cherish her memory.
Active Pallbearers for the service will be Charlie Johnson, Gery Abraham, Ira Tieuel, Davis Cotton, Melton Harrison, and Jim Sorenson.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made in Margaret’s memory to the
Autism Society of Texas.
