91, of Louisville, KY, passed away on March 6, 2018 surrounded with love of her family. Born October 14, 1926 in Floyds Knobs, IN, at the foothills of St. Mary’s of the Knobs Church, where she attended grade school. She was a graduate of New Albany High School and attended New Albany Business School.
While working at Peasley & Gaulbert, Martha met her beloved husband, George W. Ritman, Jr. Upon marrying, September 11, 1954, she made Louisville her home. She was a long time member of St. Elizabeth Church and more recently of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Martha’s life was marked by a great devotion to her family. They were her world. She was always happiest when she was with her children, grandchildren and all of their spouses, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She loved spending hours in the kitchen cooking with her daughters and grandchildren. Even her “granddogs” would get excited when she visited because they knew inside her pocketbook would be a delicious treat.
Martha will always be remembered by her family for her selflessness, generosity, kindness and her compassion for others.
Martha is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George, her parents, Mary and Victor Egler and her brother, William Egler. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Mary Ann (John) Pieper and Terri (Ron) Hohmann, her four grandchildren, Stephanie (Shawn) Reilly, Lauren (Coleman) Coffey, Paul (Brenna) Hohmann and Beth Hohmann and her sister-in-law, Patsy Egler.
