Shirley A. Lucas, age 82, peacefully passed away March 8, 2018. Daughter of the late John and Anne Kowal. Loving wife of the late John Lucas. Caring mother of the late Johnny, and Scott Lucas. Big sister of Joyce (Bob) Long. Proud grandmother of Dustin (Whitney) Lucas. One and only Aunt of Michelle (Rob) Rinaldi, Nicole (John), and Mike Pyne. Great Aunt of Alec Rinaldi, Ava and Alexia Musta. For most of her adult life Shirley was a homemaker who loved to cook. She made the best homemade chicken noodle soup! For a short time she was a bartender. Later in life she worked in marketing, which she enjoyed very much. Early in life she lovingly helped raise her kid sister Joyce, then her 2 children Johnny and Scott. Later in life she continued parenting by helping to raise her grandson Dustin, who everyone knew was her pride and joy. During her life Shirley loved going on vacations up north to spend time with family. She also spent a lot of time going to the movies. Shirley was a strong, independent woman who faced a multitude of health issues and family tragedies, but it never got her down. She always managed to stay positive, have faith, and keep a beautiful smile on her face. She loved being around family and friends, and had a great sense of humor. She was on the go for most of her life, but when her health issues slowed her down she still kept busy by socializing and playing Bingo. She was a hard worker and an inspiration to us all. She will surely be missed, but will forever be remembered in our hearts! Rest in peace Shirley and continue watching over us all! Memorial Service to be held at a later date (contact [email protected]).
