Enzo H. Velazquez passed on Wednesday, March 7 at his home, with his beloved wife Elvis at his side. He is survived by his wife and sister in law, Melly. He leaves behind a legacy of five wonderful children - Adria, Enzo with wife Debra, Eric with wife Maureen, Kirk with wife Brigitte, and Elke, 6 grandchildren – Justin with wife Aniela, Rebecca with husband Merlin, Luc, Sofia, Evan and Vince, and great-grandchild, Enzo G.
Born in Mariel, and a proud native of Havana, Cuba, Enzo graduated from Havana University with a degree in accounting. He married the love of his life, Elvis in September, 1960. In 1962, they fled to Miami before settling in New York City to be close to family and friends. Enzo enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an accountant until his retirement in 2015.
Enzo will be remembered for his ready smile, warm personality, charming handshakes and hand kisses, dancing, elegant style, work ethic, passion for baseball, and bottomless love for his family and friends.
Services honoring Enzo's life will be held Tuesday, March 27 at 9:30 am at St. Kevin’s Roman Catholic Church, 45-21 194th Street in Flushing, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family requests tribute donations in memory of Enzo H. Velazquez to either the American Heart Association (donatenow.heart.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association, (www.alz.org).
