Rudy was born November 28, 1959, to Ricardo and Noema O’Con. He attended St. Paul’s and Antonian High School where he made lifelong friends. Always one to throw a party, he lived life to the fullest and always had a smile on his face. His happiest moments were spent with his family and friends either watching a Spurs game or rooting on the Dallas Cowboys, usually while barbecuing. When he wasn’t doing that, you could find him outdoors tending to his favorite plants or near the water with a cold beer. He was a loving and generous husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was loved by all who met him and will be greatly missed.
Rudy is preceded in death by his mother, Noema, and there is no doubt that she was waiting for him with open arms. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Cindy; children, Jessica Gonzales (Christopher), Amber Salame (Thomas), Ryan O’Con (Michelle), and Justin O’Con (Esther); father, Ricardo O’Con, Sr.; siblings, Ricardo O’Con, Jr. (Carol), Audrey Pratt (Wayne), Ronald O’Con (Becky), and Aissa Tristan (Mike). He also leaves behind three step‐sons, Mario Cortes (Sarah), Marc Cortes, and Michal Cortes (Janeth); grandchildren, Jacob, Thomas, Devin, Ethan, Gavin, Rhianna, Nathaniel, Alexa, Mark, Isaiah, Nevaeh, Presley, and Sofie; 3 great‐grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Vitas Hospice, especially Shar, for their loving care and support, his doctors, and the numerous family and friends who have offered their support and condolences.
A memorial service will be held on March 24, 2018, at 2:00pm. Afterwards, family and friends are invited to celebrate Rudy’s life at Paul’s Pizza Roma (5137 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78229).
