Carol Louise Buckelew, 85, of Manasquan passed away peacefully on March 9th, 2018 in Brick, N.J. She was a lifelong resident of Lakewood, N.J., this is where she attended High School and met her beloved husband of over 62 years, Joseph Buckelew.
Carol was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone Company for many years. She was a major stockholder in Ocean County’s first radio station WOBM. Carol served as a New Jersey state delegate in the 1988 nomination of president Ronald Regan.
She was an avid reader, a devoted wife, a terrific mother and a cherished grandmother.
Carol took great pride in her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Carol was predeceased by her parents Thelma & Arthur Applegate and her sister Marilyn Miller.
She is survived by Husband Joseph, Sons and Daughters-in-law Brian & Laurie Buckelew and Kevin & Barbara Buckelew along with her six grandchildren, Jillian, Alixandra, Jonathan, Lindsay, Eric and Jake. Nieces Theresa Curatola, Stevie Curtis and Nephews Greg Miller, Michael Dennis, Ricky Dennis and Albert Tasker.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13th from 3-7 p.m. at D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue Lakewood. Funeral Service, Wednesday at the funeral home, 11:00 a.m. Interment is private.
