Birdie McRoberts Stoker, 82, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 Surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Lenoir.

She was born September 22, 1935 in McDowell County, West Virginia to the late Lillie Hall.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Stoker, daughter, Lillie Kathleen Stoker, brothers; Johnny McRoberts, Curtis McRoberts, daughter-in-law, Darlene Stoker, mother-in-law Kathleen Stoker, great-grandson, Andrew Benfield and heart sister, Nicie Williams.

Mrs. Stoker was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church and the JOY group. She was a volunteer with the Alpine Christmas Village.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons; William Stoker Jr. “Eddie” and wife Sharon, Tim Stoker and fiancé Jodie Webb, daughters; Sherry Austin and husband Gene, Debra Paisley and husband Joe, grandchildren; David Austin and wife Bobbie-Jo, Amanda Olive and husband Richard, Sarah Stoker, Lily Stoker, Ashley Gause and fiancé Kenny Dula, Travis Benfield and fiancé Ashley Buchanan, Wes Stoker and wife Kendra, Brad Stoker and wife Chasity, great-grandchildren; William Gause, Isaiah Gause, Emma Gause, Kaleb Dula, Kaylee Stoker, TJ Benfield, Alexis Benfield, Wyatt Cody, KateLynn Olive, Jordan Olive, Adalyn Austin and heart sister Polly Coffey.

A funeral service will be held at College Avenue Baptist Church on Thursday, 15, 2018 at 2:00PM with Pastor Charles Brawley and Pastor Tony Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Mariah’s Chapel Cemetery of Lenoir.

The Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 9:00pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family respectfully requests memorials be made to Alpine Christmas Village at College Avenue Baptist Church at 1201 College Avenue SW, Lenoir, NC 28645 and Mariah’s Chapel Preservation Foundation at 3780 Hwy 268, Lenoir, NC 28645.
