passed away, Saturday, March 10, 2018, in Alton, Illinois.
Mike was very active with the Special Olympics, participating in bowling, basketball, and track.
He loved music, singing, and especially dancing. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh;
that was more of a giggle. He enjoyed drawing and spending time with family. He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah A. and Ruby M., nee Artis, Leonard, III;
his grandparents, Elijah and Lillie Leonard, II and George and Sadie Artis;
and his brother, Charles H. Leonard.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his siblings, Elijah “Al” Leonard, IV, of Los Angeles, California
and Jerilyn Leonard, of Shiloh, Illinois; his nieces and nephews, Nicole (J.D.) Garrett, Scott Leonard, Janel Leonard, and David Van Zummeren; an aunt, Hazel “Aunt Mickey” Shaw;
an uncle, Ernest “Uncle Buddy” Leonard; a sister-in-law, Jamie (Pete) Nelson; his cousins, Arshur, Yvonne, Patricia, Jesse, Carolyn, Derrick, Bryan, Gladys, Ernest, Jr., Darlene, and Anthony; and many other relatives and friends.
