Carole Marianne Jones, 68, returned to her Heavenly Father March 10, 2018. Carole was born December 28, 1949 in Alpine, Texas to the late Harry W. Wortmann and Helene Uhrinak Wortmann. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and Zion Lutheran Church congregation member, all who knew Carole cherished her. Known for her humor and sharp wit, she was always a figure of fun and full of laughter. Equipped with fierce intelligence, she began playing the organ at Redeemer Lutheran Church at the young age of 14, and soon after, attended UTEP to pursue a degree in her life-long career as a Civil Engineer. Even so, she continued throughout her entire life to serve her Savior as an organist, including at Mount Hope and Ascension in El Paso, among others. She further shared her love for Christ and joy for music as a piano teacher to the children of those congregations. Carole’s compassion manifested in the love and care she bestowed on those around her, even the four-legged kind. She delighted in the happiness and wellbeing of her loved ones. Carole is survived by three children, Philip Beard, Carolyn Beard, and Whitney Jones, two grandchildren, and her brother Harry S. Wortmann. She joins in heaven her parents and brother Frederick Wortmann. A visitation at Zion Lutheran Church, 2800 Pershing Dr., El Paso, will be held April 7, 2018, 10-11am with a Memorial Service beginning immediately after.
