Isaac Benjamin “Ben” Hartsell, Jr, GRAND PRAIRIE, 87, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 9am Thursday, March 15th at the DFW National Cemetery. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2pm Thursday, March 15th at First United Methodist Church in Grand Prairie, TX. VISITATION: 6-8pm Wednesday, March 14th at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, Grand Prairie, TX. “If desired, memorials to Ben Hartsell Scout Scholarship Fund c/o First United Methodist Church, GP, or to the Lymphoma Society.” Ben was born September 11, 1930 in Frederick, OK. He graduated from Loveland High School in 1948 and earned a math degree from Oklahoma State University. Upon graduation Ben served 2-years with the U.S. Air Force. He then moved to Dallas and started working for the Temco Aircraft Company (Vought Aircraft). Ben met his wife, Mary Ann Comer, soon after. They married June 1, 1957 and the two eventually settled down to raise a family in Grand Prairie. Ben retired from Vought in 1995. Ben served the community through the Methodist Church, Boy Scouts and the Lions Club. Ben is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, sons Brett (Melanie), Andrew (Cynthia), and Brian, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Candace Bell (Mitch), Nicole, Ben, Dylan, and Sarah Hartsell.
