Donna Phillips Armstrong, age 57, resident of Box Springs, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at her residence. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018, 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Dan MacMinn officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, Columbus. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 6-8 p.m.
Donna, daughter of the late John Thomas Phillips, Sr. and Mable Irene Sasser Phillips, was born August 14, 1960 in Phenix City, Alabama. She owned and operated Armstrong Cleaning Service, serving many in the Chattahoochee Valley for several years. Donna loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a Mom that taught her family values and taking care of her family was her "one main job." Donna was a great cook and taught other family members. She was also a member of Cataula United Methodist Church.
Donna was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany Armstrong; a sister, Barba Colwell; and a granddaughter, Emma Brooke Sutherland. She is survived by her husband of over 41 years, Kenneth Armstrong of Box Springs, Georgia; a daughter, Brittany Sutherland and her husband Bobby of Upatoi, Georgia; two brothers, Lamar Kelley and his wife Joyce of Columbus and John Thomas Phillips, Jr and his wife Brenda of Cataula, Georgia; five grandchildren, Taylor Blake Sutherland, MacKenzie Grace Sutherland, Allison Reese Sutherland, Zachary Ryann Cloud, and Hunter Tyler Cloud; many other relatives and friends.
