Arlys married Gerald (Jerry) Schiedel and they raised two children, Barry and Roxane, in Merritt Island, Florida. Arlys loved her family and put them first. She co-owned and over saw finances of their family business and home.
Arlys and Jerry shared many happy years in Hendersonville, North Carolina at their vacation home as well as in Longwood where they resided. She and Jerry were married for 60 years on March 8th.
Over the years, Arlys spent much of her free time enjoying working out, traveling, helped in the family business, rollerblading, playing tennis and loved spending time with family and friends. She was very young at heart. She had a deep love of the ocean and mountains. She loved to fish, snorkel and loved dolphins and sea life. Her favorite place was called Pretty Place in the mountains near their vacation home.
Arlys loved helping those in need and was extremely generous to many charitable organizations she felt drawn to. She loved being behind the scenes and did not like attention. She was crazy about her children and grandchildren and loved hosting fun parties for them when they were little and loved attending their sports activities throughout their years.
Arlys attended Northland, A Church Distributed. She loved to travel and especially loved meeting her best friend in Branson, Missouri every year. She and Jerry enjoyed travel to Brazil and South America.
Arlys leaves behind to cherish her memory: her Husband of 60 years Jerry Schiedel of Longwood, Fla., Son Barry (Beth) Schiedel of Longwood, Fl, Daughter Roxane (Rick) Mann of Longwood, Fl, Grandson, Ryan Schiedel of Cocoa, Fla, Grandson, Kyle Schiedel of Cape Canaveral, Fla, Granddaughter Brandie Schiedel of Orlando, Grandson Cory Schiedel of Orlando, and Grandson Branson Mann of Longwood, Fla., and sister Mary Ellen Allen of Columbia, South Carolina.
