Richard F. “Dick” Poehl, Sr., 82, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away March 25, 2018 surrounded by family. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association.
Dick was born May 10, 1935 in Burlington, Iowa to Hans and Ruth Poehl. He retired from Century Management as a CPM. Dick married the love of his life, Shirley Quigley, on September 20, 1954. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Ruth Poehl; his daughter, Jennifer Kirby; his son-in-law, James Stimac; and his grandson, Timothy Stimac.
Dick is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Shirley Poehl; his daughters, Patricia Stimac, significant other Paul Armenta, Cindy Kaster, husband Carl, and Linda Quick; his son, Richard Poehl, Jr.; his son-in-law, Kenny Kirby; as well as eleven grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
