Elizabeth Ann (Danyluk) Fitton, “Betty” age 77 of Westport Harbor, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Dr. Richard Fitton to whom she has been married for over 40 years.
Born on a farm in Andrew, Alberta, Canada, she was the daughter of the late George and Nancy (Billey) Danyluk.
Mrs. Fitton was a graduate of the Andrew Alberta High School and the University of Alberta in Edmonton, following which she lived in Montreal for 14 years working for the Canadian Food and Drug Administration.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four siblings, Ken of San Antonio, Texas, Nick of Andrew, Alberta, Dale of Kamloops, B.C. and Collin of Duncan, B.C. and their families. She is also survived by step-daughters, Betsy Cummings, Susan Roth, Polly Culbreth and their families. She was the sister of the late Mac Danyluk.
Betty was an avid bridge player and for many years ran a duplicate game for her many friends. For several years she was the president of the Westport Art Association. She was the former president of the Fall River Women’s Club, was vice president of Adams House (Fall River Home for the Aged) and Bay View for many years and former president of the Charlton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Betty was a member of the Acoaxet Club, the Elephant Rock Beach Club and several tennis groups.
