He was born July 1, 1943 in Claremont, NH, the son of Robert D. Berge and Evelyn (Falconer) Kennison. He grew up in Conventry, VT and was educated at the Brandon Training School and at home.
Robert was faced with a lifetime of hurdles, but fearlessly over came and adapted to his environments. He was a client of Monadnock Developmental Services and thrived living as independent as he possibly could. He attended services at Sturtevant Chapel of Keene. Robert loved being with others and could fit in anywhere due to his accommodating nature. He participated in the Special Olympics at Waterville Valley and especially enjoyed snowshoeing. He also held memberships to the Keene Family YMCA and Best Western pool. Robert was always up for an adventure and liked car rides to visit those he loved and see new things. Food was a simple pleasure that he relished. He enjoyed watching cartoons, putting together puzzles, and coloring.
Robert will be dearly missed by his brothers: John Berge and his wife Susan of Marlow, and Richard Berge and his wife Cindy of Fort Meyers, FL; nieces and nephews: Tanya Davis of Swanzey, Shaun Berge of Keene, Jeffrey Berge of Fort Meyers, Amy Pawloski of Fort Meyers, Stephen Berge of Fort Meyers, and Brian Berge of Fort Meyers; many great-nieces and great-nephews; his resident caregivers: Al and Nancy Dionne of Keene; day caregiver: Virginia Goodell of Gilsum; and well as many cousins and extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral service on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11:00 am at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH. Burial will follow immediately at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave, Keene, NH.
