Harold Kenneth “Herb” Meadway, 86, of Fleetwood, passed away on March 28. Born in Norristown, Herb was the only child of the late T. Kenneth and Amanda (Coffman) Meadway.
Herb served in the Air Force during the Korean War era and later spent 37 years as a systems analyst with IBM in Endicott, New York where he helped to build some of the first computers. Herb was an active member of Colebrookdale Chapel, where he was the treasurer for many years. He was also a former Rockland Twp. Supervisor, and was involved in many local planning commissions.
Herb is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Doris; by a son, Jay Meadway and his wife Roberta Jacobs-Meadway; and by a grandchild, Han Meadway.
A viewing will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday April 3 at Colebrookdale Chapel, 2108 Farmington Ave. Boyertown, PA, followed by a service at 11:00AM. Interment with military honors will take place at 12:00PM Wednesday April 4 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas, PA.
