Philip J. Gallicchio, 90, of Glastonbury, entered peacefully into eternal life on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, surrounded by family and loved ones. Philip was a beloved husband to Ann (Montanile) Gallicchio for nearly seventy years. He was born in West Hartford a son of the late Nicola Rocco and Magdalena (Boniface) Gallicchio. Philip was a graduate of Weaver High School in Hartford and a proud Marine Corps Veteran of WWII. Upon returning from the service, he owned and operated Gallicchio Barber Shop on Blue Hills Avenue, Hartford, that later moved to Bloomfield. For the next fifty years, Phil worked as a stagehand for the Local 84 Union at the Capitol Theatre, the Bushnell and Hartford Civic Center. No words can describe his larger than life personality and his love and dedication to his family and friends that will never be forgotten. He was a hard worker, a go-to guy and always went above and beyond when things needed to get done. Beloved by all, his passions included family, his grandchildren, friends, dogs, the ocean, golf, and his involvement with St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church. He was predeceased by his parents and five siblings. He is survived by his wife Ann, his four sons; Philip and his wife Linda of Massachusetts, Clifford and his wife Kathi of Manchester, Nicholas and his wife Lorraine of Rhode Island, and Anthony and his wife Eileen of Stonington. His ten grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Heidi, Brian, Michael and his wife Colleen, Rocco, Stacy Murphy and her husband Nate, Katie, Kimberly Petters and her husband Wade, Matthew, Anthony and Laura, as well as his eleven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his brother in law Tony Montanile. Calling hours are Friday from 4PM-7PM at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT. All family and friends are invited to the Liturgy of Christian Burial 10AM on Saturday April 7, 2018 at 10AM at St.Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church St. Hartford, CT. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd. Bloomfield, CT.
