Sally Mae Warnke, 77, passed away on April 1, 2018, in Gresham. She was born on May 31, 1940, in Portland, to her parents: James Oscar and Frances Blanche (Deihl) Chappell. She attended Wilsonville High School. She then attended PCC to become a Real Estate Broker. In 1979, Sally married her husband, Donald Warnke, and they were married until he passed away in September of 2012.
Sally and Don began their career in Real Estate by flipping houses. They then purchased multiple apartment and Condo complexes, where Don served as the handyman. Sally also owned and operated a Real Estate Brokerage Company for many years.
Sally was very involved with the Boy Scouts, and she served in many Leadership positions. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, a Silver Beaver and she served on the Eagle Scout Committee, and The Order of the Arrow. She was also a member of Job’s Daughter’s (her father was a Mason, and her mother was in the Order of the Eastern Star). She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and a volunteer for the American Red Cross, where she assisted with Search and Rescue missions as well. She also was a member of The Red Hat Society. Sally regularly gave to the American Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and to World Vision. In addition to her community involvement, she enjoyed hosting cooking classes, and hosting her annual Taco and Cajun Parties. Sally and Don would often travel to San Filipe, Mexico, to visit her mother who had a home there. They enjoyed making the long trip in their RV.
Sally will forever be remembered for her hospitality, generosity, fantastic parties and her dedication and involvement with the Boy Scouts.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband. She is survived by her children, Marty, Scott (Cherri), Sherry (Stephen) and Dennis (Laura); her grandchildren, Matthew, Hannah, Lydia, Linc (Jen) and Cindy (David); her great grandchildren, Nova Rae, Hayden, Tyson, Olivia and Peyton; her sisters, Corki (Roger) and Barbara (Marshall); as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.
A Service for friends and family will be held Wednesday April 18th.. 10:30am

Sally will be laid to rest with Donald at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.
