Silvestre “Guero” C. Sepulveda, age 86, Our Hero, Great Role Model and Hard Working long life resident of Anthony, NM passed away peacefully in Las Cruces, NM on Monday, April 2, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Silvestre was born on December 31, 1931 in Anthony, NM to Jose Garza Sepulveda and Julia Cruz Rivera. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He worked at the Department of Defense at Fort Bliss and La Tuna Bureau of Corrections and also worked with the Gadsden Independent School District. He was a life time active member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #4384 in Anthony, NM.
Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife of 66 years, Rosa Sanchez Sepulveda. Daughters, Selma, Sylvia, Sally, Rachel, Rebecca, Roberta and Son, Robert. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, and three great-grand children as well as Brothers Melquiades Sepulveda and Frank C. Rivera and one sister Irene McDonald. Silvestre is preceded in death by his Father, Jose Garza Sepulveda, Mother, Julia C. Rivera, Brother, Issac Sepulveda and Sister, Lucy Lugo and Great Granddaughter Neveah. Visitation for Mr. Sepulveda will be on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 9-11am at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will begin at 11am at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Procession will immediately follow to Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Serving as casket bearers will consist of family members.
