Charles David Kyle, fondly known as Chuck was born on October 20, 1930, in Mer Rouge, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his is parents, Ellis and Minnie Kyles, brothers Wilbert, Harvey, James, Walter, Quenon and sisters Artimease and Lois.
He attended grammar school in Bastrop, Louisiana and graduated high school from Booker T. Washington in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He attended college at Los Angeles City College and East Los Angeles College. He also attended school for three years to become a journeyman meat cutter.
Charles was a member of the Young Progressives, a political movement located in Los Angeles, CA during the civil rights era. Charles served in the United States Army as a Private First Class (T). Charles belonged to the 24th Anti Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion during the Korean War. His infantry unit was the first integrated in the Korean War.
Charles met and married the love of his life Marilyn Catherine Webster in 1957. To that union two children were born, Tara Monique and Antoine Leveque.
Charles worked as a meat cutter for 38 years. He owned two meat markets prior to working for Ralph’s and retired from there after 26 years. After retirement, Charles went back to school to become an air-condition and refrigeration technician. He started his own successful business doing repairs for individuals and local businesses.
He accepted Christ at an early age. He was an avid reader and studier of the bible. His favorites books were, “The Lost Books of the Bible” and “The Greatest Story Ever Told.” He was versed in the bible.
He loved acquiring knowledge through studying and reading subjects that interested him. He could speak on almost every subject. He loved politics, law and auto mechanics. He especially loved to show off his garden which consisted of many fruit trees.
Charles Kyle passed away quietly on April 5, 2018 in Apple Valley, California. He truly loved his family and will be truly missed. He leaves behind his wife Marilyn of 60 years, daughter Tara Monique, son Antoine Leveque (Wanda), grandson Stephan, granddaughter Wendi, two sister-in laws, two brother-in laws and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and long time friend Henry Sanders.
