Rick was born March 17, 1956, in Bloomington, the son of Ronald and Geneva White Coit.
Surviving are his children, Stephanie Bentley of North Baltimore, OH; and Stacie Coit of Mooresville, N.C. and Alex Burcham ,“like a daughter he raised as his own, of Bloomington, IL.”; a brother, Ron (Kaye) Coit of Farmer City; two sisters, Debbie Devine and Lori Rogers, both of Bloomington; and his significant other, Christine Bator of Normal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Geneva Coit and a nephew, Ryan Peasley.
Rick was a truck driver for many years working for APL Trucking and Williams Trucking. He was known as “Hollywood” or “Tennessee” to all his coworkers. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid fan of Jimmy Johnson.
Per Rick’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A brief graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at East Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Catering to Cats and Dogs (www.c2cnd.org) or to donor’s choice.
