A native of Grand Junction, CO and formerly of Cleveland, OH, Mrs. Dailey was a daughter of the late Lloyd Vance Akey and Geneva Gill Akey. She was a World War II nurse where she met her future husband of 63 years, the late John Joseph Dailey Jr., who was a Naval aviator. A resident of Athens since 1972, she was the longtime parish secretary and member at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also active in St. Joseph Charities. Mrs. Dailey was an avid golfer, traveler and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include children, William John Dailey of Athens, Theresa Ann Brown (Stephen) of Delaware, OH, Donald Joseph Dailey (Mary Jo) of Gates Mills, OH, Thomas Michael Dailey (Patty Robins) of Greensboro and Stephen Patrick Dailey (Donna S.) of Madison; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 27 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
