There are far too many memories to share here. My time in Hollywood was better because of my friendship with Devin. It did not take us long to click and become good friends. I will always remember Devin's care for his students friends, and family. Devin always tried to make others laugh and his smile is hard to forget. There are countless football games, staff meetings or Sunday lunches after church that I spent with Devin and will always remember. My thoughts and prayers over this past...

In 1991,  we bought a motor home to travel around the  U.S.A. We made several short trip and two big trips, one to Alaska for 40 days and one to Mexico for 45 days. In 1992, we decided to go up the Eastern Seashore into Canada and asked Devin to go with us. His mom agreed, and we left June  17, 1992, with one very excited little boy. After about 10 days, we entered into Canada. I think we stopped at almost every light house on the East Coast of Canada. Devin was really excited about them. We went by the Bush Home in Kennybuck Port, Maine and went to Baseball Hall of Fame in New York. Devin was super excited about all the sports places we visited.
He was a true sports lover. We visited several NASCAR tracks and a Harness Race in New York . He couldn't bet so we let him pick numbers on one ticket and he won $40. He was over the moon. I tell you, Devin and I loved ice cream. We ate a half gallon every other day and had an awesome trip. Devin was our first grandchild, and it is a true blessing that we were given the opportunity to spend this time with him. Devin was and still is a kind, loving, sweet treasure that God gave us the pleasure of having for such a short time. I love and miss you everyday.. Grandaddy

Devin lovingly leaves behind my daughter, granddaughter and his unborn child. Devin was a great husband and father and will be missed by all. He accomplished much in his short life overcoming disabilities to become a teacher and and a successful High School Football Coach. Things will never be the same but his legacy will continue in the memories of everyone he touched!

I sure do miss hearing your voice every day and getting your texts with pictures of sweet Ainsley Rose. I love that little angel and your beautiful wife, Katie. She is a strong woman and the best momma ever! I am excited to welcome baby Malloy into the family in November. Thank you for letting me be such a big part of your world. I loved my Port St. Lucie visits and will never forget the football games, our dinner controversies,  the ice cream treats, and Saturday morning breakfasts. Your strong hugs, your goofy pranks, and your sweet, kind spirit will be missed, but I am so grateful to have 34 years of memories. There are no words to express how much I enjoyed being your mom. I am so incredibly proud of the son you were, the man, husband, and father you became, and everything you accomplished for Jesus. I love you to pieces and will miss you every single day. ALWAYS. I’m so thankful the Lord put Devin in my life. He was my best friend in college and even though he moved back to Florida and I moved back to Maryland after graduation, we still managed to talk and text on a regular basis. I will always remember our late night poker games, dorm sumo wrestling, trips to get wings, going to football games, hanging out together, and him practically living on the futon in my dorm room. 
Devin brought so much joy to the people around him. I will miss our talks about life and our families, but I’m thankful that Devin had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and that one day I will see him again. 

When you get flooded with so many messages all in a 5 minute span that just breaks your heart completely to hear bad news of someone that made such an impact on so many students’ lives left me completely lost for words and all I could do is cry. I had the privilege to play quarterback for you for two years. Between the pep talks,always talking smack to each other, always making me laugh, always believing in me, and checking up on me, there was always a smile on my face because of you. You are definitely one of the Best Coaches I ever had. You will always be truly missed but I know you’re in a better place now. Rest in Peace, Coach Malloy

Sweet Devin! We have so many great memories together, my favorite one is when Grandma would drive you, Jessica, Thomas and myself around to multiple McDonald’s for breakfast lunch and dinner just to collect toys! I miss you and can not wait to see you again. I love you!

When Devin was younger I would take him to NASCAR races, together we had a blast! He was my racing buddy and was like a son to me. I loved Devin with all my heart and I miss him so much. I will be here for Katie, Ainsley, and the new baby always. I will also be here  for Cindy, Steve, Jessica, and Grace and the rest of the family.I love and miss you Devin. I was by far the worst quarter back you’ve ever seen, and you never failed to let me know it 😂 you knew I was my biggest critic and you always made sure that I believed in myself. From the pregame talks to the post game celebrations you were there for me. You were so much more than a coach, you were a friend. Someone I could come to if I needed a laugh or if I needed advice, or even if I just wanted to get out of class, your door was always open. I’ll miss you so much. I will never lose touch with the people who have shaped me, and this is why I go back to my high school and visit everyone.. you weren’t there when I came a couple weeks ago. But how much I wish I could have enjoyed your laughter and to tell you about college and all I am accomplishing. I hope you know how much of an impact you’ve made on every one of your players. I’m so glad I got to spend a lot of time with Devin when he was a little kid and I was a teenager – he was goofy, charming, sweet, and smart, always fun to be around, and he never failed to crack me up. I know he took those same qualities with him to adulthood, too – plus a lot of new additions that he gained as he grew up and spread his wings. I’ve seen so many people talking about what an outstanding teacher and coach he was, and I’m glad he got to give the gifts of education, confidence, and pride to so many people during his life. What an amazing legacy. I’m forever sad that we didn’t get to spend more time together as adults. His unique, beautiful, gentle presence is going to be missed by so many. I love you, sweet cousin. You were one of a kind.


I am heavy-hearted along with you and your family. I spent 8 of the best years of my life in school with Devin and I will never forget him. I wanted to share one of my favorite moments with him with you so you. When we were in high school still, I had a red Kia Rio. One day after church or after school, Devin said something about never being able to drive, and since I hated my car so much I told him he could drive my car around our parking lot. And he did, and he had so much fun and we laughed so hard. 

I loved Devin, and I’m so sad he’s no longer with us, but believe he’s found comfort with our Creator. 

Sweet Devin, i miss you so much.  You are such an amazing guy and I’m so proud to call you my cousin. You were always so kind and so loving. I’m grateful I was able to hug you two weekends in a row. I will forever cherish the memories we have together. I love you so much Devin.

I always have and always will think of you when I see a mimosa tree. There used to be a beautiful one close to my house, and I’d fantasize that it could be in your yard wherever you were, so you could play under its protective shade and the sun wouldn’t burn your fair skin. Your words once made me feel so special in a way I’ve recalled so many times every time I’d pick up a treasure from a thrift store or a yard sale. I had given you some cute to me but insignificant gift that escapes my memory, but what you said to me is something I’ll always remember. You gave the gift that close up look that only you could do, and you said strong and clear, “Awe, Jean, I love it, and Jean, it doesn’t matter what it is, you thought of me.” And you were so happy and gave me a big hug. You were always so considerate and kind and thankful and loving. Your love and knowledge of sports and NASCAR was always amazing to me and I could see the pride and love for your family recently when you came to Macon. So thankful that you made the trip so I got one last hug from you. I love you and I’m glad you are a part of my family.

Devin made one of the biggest impacts on my life at a time where I was going through some major changes..This one really hurt to hear and I'm saddened by this..to Katie.. Devin was one of a kind, which I'm sure you know of. This one is gonna stick with me for a while. I will be unable to attend the funeral, but I will be there in spirit..God Bless...

Devin was one-of-a-kind and the best brother-in-law a girl could ask for. To know Devin, was to love him. He was always happy, funny, loving, and we always had the best time together as a family. The first time I saw my sister with Devin, I immediately knew it was love. She was smitten and I could see why. He was charismatic and kind. Everything you would want for your sister. I will always feel grateful and blessed that Devin was in my life and was a part of our family. There will always be a piece of our family missing now that he’s gone but his memory will live on through Kate and Devin’s beautiful children. We love you Devin. 

This sweet young man was my first treasure that God gave me, but God took him back too quickly. I have so many sweet memories of my first grandchild. His love for everything and everyone, his ready smile, his desire to help everyone, and his big, kind heart. He suffered much heartache in his life, but he managed to smile and walk on. He left us two sweet treasures to fill his shoes. Each member of my family has a special place in my heart; but right now there is a big hole where my first grandchild lives, and it hurts so badly. I coached football with Devin at Godby High school for several years. Coaching football is a full time, year around job. You spend a lot of time with other coaches and become very close almost like brothers. I think around 2008 Devin, Mac, Lab and myself started the Boyz Room  text group chat, where we would talk about anything and everything from football (making fun of his jags or him making fun of our dolphins) to politics, to family and faith. The Boyz Room was active almost daily and it kept all of close even though we didn’t see each other as often as we did at Godby. I haven’t seen Devin in person in probably 8 years and recently he came to my wedding with his wife Katie. I was very greatful to see him one last time, I considered him a very a close friend and brother. He was very funny and the Boyz Room will miss his self deprecating humor and timely jokes a lot. I miss you already buddy and always will. RIP

Devin was such a great friend. I've known him for about 20 years and have so many great memories about him.   He loved his wife, daughter and family with all his heart.  Our group chats with Cleon and LaMerrill were some of the funniest times of my life. There are so many things that I am going to miss: his love of BBQ, his rants about FSU after a loss and his texts messages railing against Blake Bortles as your QB.  I'll make sure to boo the Jags 1st round draft pick extra hard for you.  Love ya and miss ya.

Devin was the most amazing person. He was my big brother for 29 years and it was the best 29 years. Devin's impact on this world was immeasurable and he was only 34. My brother gave his heart to so many people and the void in all our lives will never be filled. Devin loved his beautiful wife and my sweet sissy Katie! They are the perfect couple. He and Katie gave me the best gift...little Ainsley Rose...man she was the light of his life! Devin was the most incredible big brother a girl could ask for. He made me feel loved. He made me feel worthy. He made me feel wanted. He made me special. I only had him for 17 of his 34 years but that time was incredible. His laughter was infectious, his competitiveness was hilaraious, his smile lit up the room, his pranks were something to be proud of. He was the best daddy to sweet Ainsley Rose and he would have been the perfect daddy to our new baby Malloy. As long as I live, Ainsley and the new baby will never forget how much their daddy loved them and how amazing he was. Devin, I will always love you. Your memory will forever live on in my heart and I will make sure it does in our family too. You did not die in vain. The impact you had on so many people will make your legacy last forever. I know you will always be with me, but I can’t wait to see you face to face once again. I love you sweet big brother. Always. 

When I first laid eyes on Devin, I knew he would make for the best husband and father. He had a passion and drive to impact the lives of children the same way I did. His smile would light up a room, his laugh was contagious and his heart so pure. It didn’t take me very long to fall in love with Devin.  The first time Devin asked me to go on a date he said “if you drive, I’ll pay” and from that night on we were inseparable. We got engaged 8 short months after meeting and married 8 months after we were engaged. Devin gave me the most amazing 9 years of my life. He taught me so much, loved me for exactly who I was and made me feel like his queen each and every day.  We had our beautiful daughter Ainsley Rose that we prayed so hard to receive, she is nothing short of perfect. Our sweet child made Devin the most proud father, she was the light of his life, the core of his soul and to be perfectly honest his twin! We have also been blessed with another child due in November of 2018, he was so thrilled to become a Daddy again, I will never let his children forget who he was, he will always be remembered and talked about. You have made me so proud and I know you will continue looking over us and being with us every step of the way. Rest In Peace my sweet angel, I love you for always. 

Devin was one of the most kind hearted, loving people I knew. He was the first friend I made at Treasure Coast, and was always there for me when I needed him. Whether it was borrowing a ring paper, or putting a smile on my face through a rough day, he never let me down. His friendship was a true blessing, and I only hope I touched his life as he touched mine. Devin had a way of making you feel so comfortable and loved when you were around him. Having a friend that you can be your true self around is no small feat, and I will forever miss your prank calls, you unplugging my phone, and writing weird things on my board....but more so, I will miss your spirit, charisma, sense of humor, and warm soul.  Devin was one of my dearest friends, and I will continue to keep his spirit alive in my heart. 

I just wanted to say what a lovely man Devin was. He was so kind to all he encountered and a wonderful colleague. My prayers of strength and courage are with his family.
