Sara G Hidalgo, 91, of Tallahassee died Saturday (4/7/2018) at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. A native of Havana, Cuba she came to Tallahassee from the Palm Beach area where she had worked for the Palm Beach County School Board as an assistant to the school nutritionist. She was very dedicated to her faith and was very active at the First Baptist Church of Thomasville Road. She also volunteered her time to others, working tirelessly with the Senior Citizens of Tallahassee from 1995 to 2015, when she stopped only because of her health. She loved music, reading, singing, and also played the accordion. Sara loved to laugh, enjoy life, her family, cooking and gardening.
Survivors include her daughters: Sarah (Gene) Williams of Wakulla County, Ruth Hidalgo of Corrales, NM; sisters: Ruth Montoto and Elizabeth Coucelo both of Miami; grandchildren: Jennifer Owens of Winter Springs, Jamie Owens of Tallahassee, Dominique Risse, Alexandra Risse, Marite Vidaurrazaga, Zenaida Vidaurrazaga, Lisa Parkerson; and great-grandchildren: Jocelyn Marie, Zhac Parkerson, Aaron Parkerson and Matthew Parkerson.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Jesus Mario Hidalgo; two children: Maria Eugenia Vidaurrazaga (Pituka) and Miyito Hidalgo; and a sister and brother: Zoila Ortiz and Luis Godinez.
