Ruby was born in Maurice, La and moved to Cameron Parish in 1954 where she raised her family. She was an active member of Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, a Lector, Ladies Auxiliary, and recited Rosaries in English and French in church and at funerals for many years. Ruby was an avid Caterer and Seamstress who completed entire weddings. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed greatly.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are son, John Allen Hebert and wife, Gwen of Sweet Lake, La; son, Don Hebert and wife, Caroline of Scott, La; daughter, Nedia Hebert Trahan and husband, Hilary “Poochie” of Cameron, La; son, Keith Francis Hebert and wife, Rosario of Lake Charles, La; son, Cedric Paul Hebert and Wife, Becky of Cameron, La; twenty grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Francis Hebert, daughters, Patsy Payne and Druscilla Aubey, grandsons, Timothy Trahan and Christopher Hebert, a brother, Joseph Floyd Hebert, and a sister, Edith Hebert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Cameron, La. Rev. Babasino Fernandes will officiate. Burial will follow in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
