It is with great sadness that the family of Virginia B. McNicholas announce her passing on Wednesday, Aprill 11, 2018, two weeks shy of her 88th birthday. She was the daughter of Nichol and Adeline De Scisciolo and was born at home at 180 Eldrig Street on the lower East Side of Manhattan on May 1, 1930. Virginia was married to the love of her life, John. J. McNicholas, for 57 years. They were residents of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey and attended Our Lady Mother of the Church Roman Catholic Church. Virginia is survived by her lovings sons, Michael and John, daughter-in-laws Jo Ann and Donna, grandsons Miles, Andrew and his wife Victoria, Matthew and his partner Minh, and her great granddaughter Millicent. She has one surviving sister, Anne Paccione, and are now joining her siblings, Tom, Helen and Frances in Heaven. For the past 8 years, Virginia has been residing in Warwick, New York with her son and daughter-in-law who were with her to her last breath. We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to the caregiver, Nilda, and the Hospice nurses, Sandy and Joanne, all the very definition of Angels of Mercy. A celebration of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady Mother of the Church In Woodcliff Lake, NJ, on Friday at 10:00 am. The visitation will be held at the Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
