Houston, TX – “Lucy would like to let you know that her work here is done as of April 10, 2018. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time.
Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, singing karaoke and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide while eating as much dark chocolate she can. Music, laughter, and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. Rest assured that her new wardrobe is as colorful and vibrant with “Bling” as that’s what she has always loved. She left detailed instructions for her youngest daughter to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Non adherence to these instructions will not be tolerated…. per Lucy.”
On September 18, 1933, Lucy was the first-born child of Mr. and Mrs. JC Campbell becoming the eldest of seven children. Her surviving sisters Dortha Rife, Tommie Greer and Charlsie Kirk along with her brother Gary Campbell will hold and cherish their childhood memories and laughter.
Lucy brought into this world three children, Cindy Stamp, Russell Teague and Yvette Drummond. And in return, her children gave her three wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren, Tyler Cruse, April Vascoe and Travis Vascoe, Sawyer Cruse and Lilly Vascoe.
ARRANGEMENTS: Life Celebration will take place on Sunday, April 15th, at 1:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home and following will be a gathering to toast Lucy’s favorite – margaritas.
