Born September 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Claude Hardy Williams and Oma Gibbs Williams.
Nethelee graduated from Newton-Conover High School in 1947. She was Miss Newton-Conover her senior year, and represented the school riding in the first Thanksgiving Day Parade in Charlotte. She was a member and church secretary of St. Luke Methodist Church in Wahalla, SC for many years. She enjoyed participating in ballroom dancing. She adored her grandson, Dan, and was excited about the birth of her first great-grandson, Noah, who was born March 6, 2018.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, J.D. Williams and Ben Williams; sisters, Janie Setzer and Lorene Wilson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Gregg Burgess and wife, Martha of Catawba, NC; sisters, Louella Evans of Conover, NC, Marie White of Enterprise, AL; grandson, Dan Burgess and wife, Christina of Mt. Holly, NC; and great-grandson, Noah Burgess of Mt. Holly, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral home in Newton, with Rev. Dr. Ed Yount and Rev. Fred Thompson officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home.
