George D. Kachajian, age 87, of Somerset, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 in Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of Anne (LaSalle) Kachajian to whom he has been married for over forty years.
Born in Troy, New York, a son of the late George Kachajian Sr. and Aznive (Kayarian) Kachajian, he lived in Belmont, Massachusetts for many years and always enjoyed visiting and summering in Somerset before making it his permanent residence in 1999.
A graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1950, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business from Suffolk University and his Master’s Degree in Business Management from Babson College. He was a Veteran of the Unites States Army and served during the Korean War.
A Certified Public Accountant he worked as the Vice President of the Accounts Payable Department for the former Star Market now Shaw’s Supermarket for over forty years before his retirement.
A member of the First Armenian Church in Belmont, he served as a Mason for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert Kachajian of Assonet and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Peter, Ann, Mary and Sonya.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11:00AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County Street, Somerset. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours prior to his service from 10:00 to 11:00AM. Burial private.
