Life
June 2nd 1933, born in Philadelphia, PA.
Parents: Charles and Annie Marcus
Charles attended school in Philadelphia, graduated, and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was assigned to the USS Princeton CUS-37. After leaving the Navy Charles attended Penn State University where he received his Master's in Electrical Engineering. He then worked for several Fortune 500 companies including NASA where he retired. Charles and his wife Betty started a telecommunication company, where they worked in the New Orleans schools and hospitals. Charles had a love for animals, including mice, so when he worked at the hospitals the lab technicians did not care for his sense of humor. He told them one day that some of their mice got out of their cage and were running down the hall. After that all you could see was the lab techs running and looking for the mice. Needless to say, they were not happy with him when they realized he was joking. Charles lived in New Orleans with his wife Betty. Charles loved to play chess and swim but his main love was building things. He follows in death, his father and mother; Charles and Annie Marcus, his sister Lilian and his son Geoffrey Marcus. He is survived by his wife Betty Marcus, his children Cheryl Marcus Ferrell (Vincen), Sean Marcus, step-children Tiera McCall and August (Gus) McCall, grandchildren Sydney and Charles Marcus, Des'rae and Desmond Darius, Sasha and Salome Ferrell, Raely, Syrus, Kylee Marcus, Le'rra Paul Clark (Lawrence), Caira and Zavin Paul, two great-grandchildren Kaliya and Samiya Williams, brother and sister-in-laws August Thomas, Eula (Tommy) Clayton, Patsy (Maming) Simmons, Janice (Harold) Brown, Malinda Hamilton, and Sheila Zehnder, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
