Rachel was born on December 5th, 1934 in Nashua to Grace and Altheode Dube. She graduated from Nashua High School, class of 1953. After high school, she worked at Improved Machinery where she met Bob Boggis. They married in 1956 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Nashua. They had their first child Eric in 1958 and their second Cindy in 1963.
Rachel opened her own very successful business, Busy Bees Day Care, in 1977. She was very loved by her day care kids. Occasionally she would run into some of them over the years and they were always thrilled to see her! After her time with the daycare, she became a paraprofessional at Broad Street School.
Rachel loved ballroom dancing and was fantastic and really in her element while dressed beautifully and dominating the dance floor. She enjoyed many years of shining at her talent.
Another of her great loves was gardening. She absolutely thrived on working in her gardens and yard! Gardening gave her great joy.
Her greatest joy was, however, her granddaughter Jennifer, Eric's daughter. Rachel adored and doted on her and helped raise her in a very special and loving way from the time Jennifer was a baby.
Rachel also loved Shirley Temple, listening to music from the 40's and 50’s, birds, cooking, collectibles, sewing and having a spotless home. She was a strong and independent woman who took pride in always being able to take care of herself. She was brilliant and artistic, could draw and paint. She played the piano beautifully. She was classy, always dressed to a T, extremely articulate and possessed great knowledge of history, culture and the arts. She spoke French fluently.
She treasured the many new friendships she cultivated at the Nashua Senior Center over the past two years while going to lunch to visit Eric and all her Meals on Wheels friends. They treated her like a queen and loved her dearly. Their benefit Walk-a-Thon this May 19th will be dedicated to her from them.
Rachel is predeceased by her parents, her brother Raymond and sister Gloria. She is survived by her younger brother Ron whom she absolutely adored, and his wife Joyce. Her son Eric, daughter Cindy, and granddaughter Jennifer.
