Born and raised in Clinton, MA, Mary was the oldest child of Harry and Elizabeth (Bakinowska) Dexter.
She left a loving family of 7 children and their families: the late Steven Hughes of Denver, CO, Thomas Hughes and wife Darline of W. Boylston, MA, the late James Hughes of Marlboro, MA, Paul Murphy of Alton, NH, John Carty of Marlboro, MA, Joanna Nee and husband Bryan of Centerville, MA, Scot Carty of Milford, MA; also 8 grandchildren, Rose, Jasmine and Amber Hughes, Chris and David Carty, Alex, Olivia and Christian Nee; 4 great grandchildren, Kristianna and Brandon Carty, Miranda Hughes and Cormac Nee.
Mary graduated Becker College, and worked for Digital and Raytheon, where she retired from after many years of service. Mary had an integral role in bringing Toastmasters into Raytheon, and believed public speaking helped a per son break out of their shell. Mary was a member of the Federation of Polish Women Club, as well as Hallmark of North Attleboro, which she attended with her 2 nieces: Kathy and Gloria. Mary combined love of family and travel with her siblings Rose, Alice and John. From camping to cruising Mary enjoyed life and requests we celebrate that. Mary also requested that there be no wearing of gray.
The celebration of Mary’s life will be on Saturday, May 19th at 9AM from the Duckett – J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA, with a Mass at 10AM at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 160 Concord Road, Sudbury. Interment will follow at Mt Wadsworth Cemetery in Sudbury.
