Mrs. Scorza was born in Brooklyn, New York, to her late parents, Frank and Antoinette Giarletta.
Her sons recall their mother as a beloved woman who loved to sew and crochet, and work Word Search puzzles. She had sweet tooth for Hershey's chocolate bars, cookies and ice cream. She so loved her family and is known for her gentle nature and generosity. In her years of work, she cherished her job as a Sales representative at Stern's Department Store in Massapequa.
Surviving are her children - her son, Robert and her daughter-in-law, Susan of Phoenix, Arizona; and her son, Ronald of Copiague, L.I.; her grandchildren - Keith Scorza and Tara Bozelli; and six great-grandchildren - Eva, Josie, Logan and Celina Scorza, and Ryan and Alex Bozelli. Also surviving are her sisters - Mary Russo, Elsie Castiglione and Ann DeAngelis, and a niece, Gina DiMartino.
Predeceasing Josephine is her beloved husband, Anthony; and her sister, Ann; and her late dog, Yoko.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Sunday, May 6th, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. At 3:00 p.m. a Funeral Wake Service will be offered by Deacon Phil Mills of Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church. Cremation services were private.
