Samuel Lee Dennis Jr. was called to rest May 2, 2018. He was born June 2, 1944 to the late Samuel Lee Dennis Sr. (Greenville, SC) and Beulah Brown (Waycross, GA). He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, the third of six children. He graduated from Northwestern Senior High School in Miami, Florida in 1962. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (James and Schedrick Dennis ) and sister Sharon Harris. He accepted Christ at an early age.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force, August 20, 1962. After 27 years he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. While in the military, he was Base Civil Engineering Supervisor, Structural Superintendent, NCOIC of Construction Management, Chief of Logistics and NCOIC of Operations. He attended Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy and received the Meritorious Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal.

While stationed at Eglin, AFB, Florida Samuel met and married Staff Sergeant Ernestine Austin. They have three children (Paul, Samuel III, and Christine), six grandchildren and one great-grand son.
After retiring from the military he worked for Valley of the Sun School as Supervisor of Maintenance and received Outstanding Service Award and Employee of the Year.
He was a member of Prince Hall Military Lodge#26. He received many awards and certificates of outstanding service. He was past Master, Grand Treasurer and named Mason of the year.
Samuel loved playing golf with is buddies and was loved by all. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years Ernestine Austin Dennis, sons Paul D. Dennis (Pam), Samuel L. Dennis III (Ebony) and daughter Christine Potter. Grand children Essence Dennis, Natasha Dennis, Deja Brewer, Christina Stevenson (Trey), Saebren D. Dennis, Samuel L. Dennis IV and great grandson Isaiah Stevenson. Sisters Paula Harris, Sophia Harris, many nieces and nephews and friends.
