She was born, raised and educated in NYC and was a graduate of New York University. She held a Master’s Degree and was a life-long educator. Arlene retired from the Neptune Township School District where she taught, counseled and then supervised the Guidance Department. She held many licenses including Principal and Supervisor. As an Adjunct professor she taught graduate counseling courses for Kean University. Career Development was of special interest and she consulted and collaborate with the New Brunswick Public Schools and New Brunswick Tomorrow. Arlene was also known as a speaker and workshop presenter and served for many years on the Executive Board of the New Jersey School Counselor Association. Her interest were many and varied among which were: performing with theater groups and ballroom dancing. She was a friend, mentor and people person with a sense of humor and a zest for life.
She is survived by her sons Scott and Glenn (Amy) and her grandchildren Diana, Michael, Danielle, and Robert.
A funeral service will be at 1pm on Thursdays May 10th, 2018 at Bloomfield-Coper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Interment will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the American Heart Association.
