Edward Ildoe Bae, age 81, of Portland, Oregon passed away on Saturday May 5, 2018. Edward was born March 30, 1937 in Kyeong-Kam, Korea to Sang Soon Bae and Chang Dae Bae. He was the oldest of three children.
Edward studied at Seoul University and graduated with a degree in Pharmacy. He was invited to work in the United States and moved stateside in 1972. He returned to Korea and met Hee Ja through mutual friends. The two were married and eventually made their way back to the United States. Edward has two children, Jennie and Charles. In addition to being a parent he also wanted to further his studies. Edward attended the Oregon School of Chinese Medicine and received his license in Oriental Medicine.
Edward genuinely cared about people and thought it was important to give back to the community. He would offer his services as an acupuncturist to members of his church, Youngnak Presbyterian Church, as well as the homeless community. When Edward wasn't busy being an amazing care provider he was out fishing, reading, or studying English. Edward will be remembered as a true gentleman! He was always kind and always honest. He enjoyed his work and he cared about his family.
