Marguerite “Peggy” Wilke was born on March 6, 1922 and passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on May 5, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Peggy was the daughter of Adolph Mayer and Margaret Monahan. She was born in Quincy, Illinois, and spent her early life in Chicago, before moving to New York where she began a career in modeling and advertising.
During World War II, Peggy marries an Army Air Force pilot and volunteered her services to General Command in Washington, D.C. Following the war, she moved to Miami, Florida, where she started a family which grew to three sons and two daughters.
In 1969, Peggy completed her Law degree from The University of Miami and later passed the bar examinations in the states of Florida and California. In 1970, Peggy relocated to Southern California and became one of the first female Deputy Attorneys in Los Angeles County.
Peggy and her loving husband Warren spent their retirement years in Ventura, California where they became actively involved in substitute teaching at elementary schools, fostering abused children, and animal rescue and adoption.
