Mom grew up in Fresno, California and graduated from Teague Elementary and Central Union High School in 1940. She attended 4 C's Business College with a Business degree. She worked as a Court Reporter for the Army during WWII, then began her career at Hockett-Cowan, working as a bookkeeper; where she later resigned to raise her two daughters. After the girls began school, mom returned to work full-time at Jura Farms/ Producers Packing as the Owners' Executive Assistant.
Mom married Hubert Henry Lawless on June 16, 1946 and they enjoyed 57 beautiful years together.
Mom is survived by her two daughters, Susan Weber and Janet Lawless, son in law, Bob Weber, and granddaughter, Cassidy Weber; brothers, Vince, Joe, Roy, and Mike Jura, sister in laws, Betty Jane and Betty Ann Jura; preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Henry Lawless, and sister in laws, Clara and Thelma Jura. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 3pm-5pm with recital of the Holy Rosary at 7pm at St. Mary Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, where Mass of Christian Burial will also be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10am.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Nancy Hinds Hospice or donor’s preferred charity.
