A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 2 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Denise was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Chester and Rose Mathii Oaks. She was a former member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church and Martha Bowman Methodist Church. Denise volunteered with the Meals on Wheels at McAfee Towers and was very active with Save-A-Pet in Bolingbroke. She was a very loving wife and mother.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Stephen “Steve” Ellis; and son, James Christopher “Chris” Ellis (Caroline Adams Ellis) of Atlanta.
