Theodore Peter Shiskin, 86, of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away on May 8, 2018. He was born in Miami, Florida on March 3, 1932 to parents Mary and Peter Shiskin. He grew up on a farm in Miami with his two brothers, Richard and James.
Theodore graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School in 1950. Although he did not attend college, he took courses and became a registered architect in 1968 and worked with his brothers at Schwebke-Shiskin. Theodore enjoyed bowling in his earlier years and met his wife, Jean, at a bowling alley. After dating one year, Ted and Jean were married on June 13, 1964.
He also enjoyed golf, tennis, ballroom dancing, attending University of Miami football games, painting acrylics and watercolors, and writing short stories and poems. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1996 but continued to paint. He started using his left hand for painting in 2009 when his right hand became too weak. He is survived by his wife, Jean, daughter Laura, son-in-law Ed, grand children Amanda and Matthew, brother James, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19th at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Weston, Florida.
