On May 10, 2018 Homer Frederick Salome, Jr., 77 years old, went home to be with Jesus. The son of Mary Jeanne Abraham and Homer Salome, Sr. He is preceded in death by his sister, Carol Salome and survived by his brother Robert Salome. He is father to Homer Salome Smith, Bonnie Talamantez, Lisa Schlinke, and Rachael Salome, and grandfather to Cheyanne and Cameron Schlinke, and Grant Talamantez.
Homer was a hardworking and free spirited man. In addition to starting the family business, the El Paso Bolt and Screw, with his father and brother, he had many hobbies such as gardening, cooking, jewelry making, and art. He was most happy when he could spend time in Southern California and enjoy a jog on the beach or a stroll through a flea market.
Homer retired in 2016 and enjoyed his last days doing what he loved most: spending time with family, gardening, and traveling to Del Mar, California. He will be remembered for his childlike nature and generous spirit.
