Shirley was born August 2, 1917 in Cañon City, CO, the daughter of Harold A. and Jeannette Bartlett Stiles. In her childhood she lived in Denver and Arkansas City, KS, moving with her parents to Alton, IL for her teenage and young adult years. She graduated from Wells College in Aurora, NY with a BA in psychology. She returned to Alton where she met her loving husband Peter L. Paull to whom she was happily married for 64 years, until his passing in 2004.
She and Peter lived in Oakville, Ontario and then Weston, Connecticut until retiring to Westport Point in 1982. In every place she lived, including Bay View in Fall River for the next 20 years, Shirley’s enthusiastic, cheerful, and optimistic personality uplifted everyone around her. She was gracious, kind, and generous. She was deeply loved by her family and will be dearly missed.
Shirley is survived by her son Peter L. Paull, Jr. of Westport Point, his companion Marie Sullivan of Fairhaven, her son James B. Paull and his wife Miren Guenechea of Hingham, and James W. Paull and his wife Caroline of Haverhill.
