Born in 1930 In Monterrey, Mexico, Aurora Obregon Lozano was an elegant woman who brought beauty into the lives of those she touched. A proud graduate of the Corte y Confeccion de Ropa program at Universidad de Nuevo Leon, Escuela Industrial Femenil, Pablo Livas, she had an uncanny ability to transform the humblest cloth into refined adornment.
Even when times were lean her talent and flare for design was evident in her home, her personal style, and perhaps shone the brightest in the exquisite craftsmanship of the bridal couture she created for the lucky women in her family. Hers was a love that manifested in the details of a finely laid table, in the careful stiches of an immaculate hem, the perfect rows of violets in her window and the quiet pride in her children’s success.
Aurora was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Felipe Esteban Lozano and is survived by her children Felipe de Jesus Lozano and wife Irma, Laura Judith Mendoza and husband David, Lucila Lozano Villarreal and husband David, Aurora Clarke, Gerardo Lozano and wife Jena. Eighteen grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren also survive her.
We will remember her quips about our posture, her penchant for poker and Sunday afternoons in her garden. But most especially, the grace and dignity with which she lived her life and leaves as a legacy to those who loved her.
