Betty Viola Wienken

Betty was born on November 23, 1934 in Alice, Texas to William Autry and Lydia Mahoney Wright. She graduated from Alice High School where she played the drum in the marching band. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William of Corpus Christi and her husband of 56 years Victor Franz Wienken. She is survived by her only child Victor Alan Wienken. Also surviving are a sister Wanda Luce of Old San Patricio and many nieces and nephews.

She was an Avon representative for 35 years where she received many sales awards working closely with her best friend Betty Vines.

Betty's number of passions-bird watching, photography, baking, painting, story writing, growing plants and flowers, computers, playing “42”, and most of all writing poetry – are only exceeded by her number of loved ones.

The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and care givers who helped in her recovery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 15 from 5-8 PM at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors. Services will be held Wednesday, May 16 at 1:00 PM at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
